Who manages Breezes Mackay?

Becton Living Mackay is a company wholly owned by Becton. This company manages Breezes at Mackay and is involved in every aspect of the operation, of all the facilities, activities, maintenance of the buildings and grounds, running the kitchen, bar & coffee shop and assisting residents in every way it can.

What facilities can I look forward to at Breezes Mackay?

Recently our ultra modern Community Centre was completed and became operational. The centre, boasting approximately 1027m2 floor area houses all the "I wants" you would expect in a prestigious over-55s lifestyle resort.

Consisting of a generous multi purpose auditorium, incorporating a commercial grade kitchen catering for formal & informal dinners, functions, dance floor, overhead projector for movie nights, separate coffee shop, bar, lounge room, library, billard room, consultation room, beauty parlor, craft room, gym, guests hotel suite. The very large enclosed outdoor entertainment area with built in gas BBQ is easily accessed from many points of the centre and overlooks the resort style 25 metre lap pool and spa.

What about lawn bowls and golf?

Sometime in the near future, our village will include a bowls and bocce rink, with plans also underway to develop a putting green on-site. In the meantime there are several bowling and golf clubs just minutes away for our residents to either participate in club championships or just play socially. Breezes is proud to sponsor a number of these clubs.

What about social clubs?

Beezes Mackay is a relatively new village and our residents are in the process of formalising a village social club. We are proud to host a chapter of the National Seniors Organisation who meet here at our centre on a monthly basis. The village is very fortunate in its location as there are numerous social and community based clubs are in close proximity, some of which are the Mackay Wood Turners, Choral Society and art and craft.

Will meals be available?

Becton will organise functions and with the forming of the Breezes Social Club in the near future this should see a number of organised dinner, dinner/dance and BBQ's held on a regular basis. Management hope to in the near future identify a qualified gourmet chef to provide meals on a regular basis to residents.

How do I get to the shops?

Breezes is located a short distance to major shopping centres and the city heart. For ease of not having to drive we have supplied a bus shelter at the entrance to the village which is serviced by a local transport bus company every half hour on the hour to all points of Mackay.

What supportive care will there be at Breezes Mackay?

All our homes are fitted with an emergency call system in the event of a medical emergency.

What types of accommodation are available at Breezes Mackay?

Breezes at Mackay offers modern, freestanding, independent living villas and apartments ranging in designs from 1 bedroom plus study to 3 bedrooms. The villas and apartments are designed for the tropics with a generous amount of glazing and high ceilings, ensuring good ventilation and abundant natural light.

If I reach a point where I can no longer live independently, is there extra care available at Breezes Mackay?

There are numerous services available such as Meals-on-Wheels, Blue Nurses, home care and Home Assist, just to name a few.
